Lomond Termite Control
Although termites are an important natural timber recyclers for the environment, they can cause a lot of damage to your building, as it contains timber. This damage can decrease the value of your home by 20 to 30%. Home owners spend thousands of dollars to repair the damage caused by these pests. There is more than 250 termite species in Australia, only a few of them are of concern to home owners. Control of pest termites involves identifying the species, locating the nest if possible and using appropriate control methods. No single method is effective against all termite species, so an integrated management approach is often essential, including regular inspections to identify infestations in their early stages. If you find termites in your house, Lomond Pest and Termite plans will be tailored to solve your termite problem based on, elimination, control and prevention of future attacks.
Treatments
After inspection and evaluation we can provide the best options for your particular situation. These are foam, dusts and above ground bait stations that is specifically formulated for termites.
Dusts and foam, this method involves dust or foaming toxicants being blown gently or injected through infested termite areas. The dust or the foam sticks to the termites and the timber they are feeding on.
This can eliminate the whole colony.
Termite above ground bait stations containing a slow acting insecticide, is placed in the bait station. The termites feed on the bait, taking it back to the nest and killing the colony, protecting the home.
Control
Physical and chemical barriers are designed to deter termites. After inspection and evaluation we can provide the best options for your particular situation.
Physical barriers are made from metal or crushed rock or other materials that termites cannot chew through and installed by licensed pest control technicians.
Chemical barriers involves applying a liquid chemical to the soil, either under concrete flooring and/or around the entire perimeter of your building's foundations. They contain a pesticide formulated for termites, it usually can last up to 5 to 8 years in average.

Prevention
In-ground termite monitoring and baiting system Termite baits consist of a cellulose material (more attractive than wood!) and a slow acting insecticide(non-repellent) is being put latter when there is termite activity. Baits are placed around the perimeter of your house. When they take the bait back to the nests, it will be fed to their nest soldiers and the queen. We will routinely monitor these stations for termite activity and when detected, the bait is added to the system.
The termite workers consume the non-repellent bait umaware, and take it back to the nest sharing the toxicant with other colony the soldiers and the queen, therefore eliminating the colony within few weeks.
Termite damage is not coverd by insurance.
